We know that navigating the NDIS can be an overwhelming task.

It’s a complex and often confusing scheme for people to understand on their own. But we are here to help you every step of the way. We will work with you to explain the process, assist you with your application (if necessary) and use your National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funding in the most effective way possible – empowering you and your family to access the support and resources you need to live the life you choose.

The first step is understanding if you are eligible to receive NDIS funding:
  • Are you permanently disabled or require early intervention to reduce the support you will need in the future?
  • Are you under 65 years old?
  • Are you living in Australia?
  • Are you an Australian citizen or permanent resident?

What is the NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding to support more than 400,000 Australians living with significant permanent or life-long disability. There are a wide range of funded supports and services, all designed to improve the confidence and independence of each NDIS participant. Further information about the scheme can be found on the NDIS website.

How do I request an assessment?

To apply for NDIS funding, you can contact the NDIS direct by calling (03) 7018 0180. Alternatively, you can complete an Access Request Form on the NDIS website.

Once the NDIS has reviewed your application, they will let you know if your funding has been approved.

What happens next?

Once your application has been approved, you will be put in touch with your Local Area Coordinator (LAC). Your LAC will be your main point of contact for anything related to your NDIS plan.

They will help you create your plan and put it into action. This includes helping you with choosing a provider for each of your supports and reviewing your plan every 1 – 2 years.
